Standard HVR Licensing Model
The Standard licensing model is based on the number of "source databases" and the number of "target databases" involved.
- A "source database" is defined as a database on which HVR performs capture operations or on which HVR performs capture operations and integrate operations. Typical examples of "source databases" are: production databases and local or remote hot standby databases.
- A "target database" is defined as a database on which HVR performs only integrate operations. Typical examples of "target databases" are: reporting databases, archive databases, data warehouses and training databases.
Note that the term "database" can depend on the business context. The HVR license fee is independent of the types of databases (Ingres, Oracle and SQL Server) as long as the specific versions of those databases and the underlying hardware and operating system platforms are supported by HVR. The pricing for Intel based platforms is different (lower) than other platforms
